| Biography* | Jeane M. Sladek Quinn, 1908-2001: Jeane was the second child and first daughter born to a father born in Czechoslovakia and a mother who was a first generation Czech-American born in Missouri. When Jeane was born the family was living in the 1st ward of Pilot Grove, Cooper County, Missouri. In 1920, the family was renting at 649 East 9th in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. And by 1930, they owned a $6,000 house at 4012 West 41st Street in Kansas City's 7th ward. Jeane, age 21, was working as a stenographer at a metal products company. Sometime later Jeane moved to St. Louis where she married Edward Quinn in 1939. Jeane died on a Monday at age 82. She was survived by two sons and their wives, one daughter and her husband, five grandchildren, and seven greats. The funeral was held on Saturday from the Bopp chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd, Kirkwood to Cure of Ars church. Masses or donations to the charity of one's choice were suggested. |
