Biography* John Healy, 1915-1975:
John worked for the Victorian Railways Union and was well known and respected in union and political circles. He was a strong supporter of the Australian Labor Party. While John never married, there is some mystery surrounding John’s relationship status. At the time of his death, his sister Mary and brother-in-law Frederick went to Dimboola to identify the body. Upon seeing the body, they noticed a wedding band on his finger, which Frederick removed, stating that it was John’s business and no one else’s. Later in that year, a mysterious woman arrived at the Healy house with a birthday gift for John’s niece, Therese, from John. It is believed that this may have been his partner.
