Biography* Mary Anne Gmeinder Hornung, 1867-1944:
Mary Anne's father was born in Germany, her mother in New York. After her husband died in 1909, Mary Anne continued to live in Sauk City until circa 1942. At that time she sold her residence and moved to Roxbury to make her home with her sister. On 3 August 1915, Mrs. Mary A. Hornung of Dane County granted Lots 9 & 10 of Block 23 in Sauk City Village to Carl Henn for $1300 (Is this Mrs. George Hornung, formerly Mary Anne Gmeinder, Barbara's daughter-in-law?). In 1930, Mary Anne was living on Washington Street in Prairie du Sac township. She owned the house which was valued at $2,000. Her mother was living with her.

Mary Anne died at home on a Saturday. She was survived by two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Saint Norbert's in Roxbury with the Rev. Herbert A. Waldkirch officiating.

Both of Josephine's parents were born in Wisconsin. She was a lifelong resident of the Roxbury area. As a child, Josephine attended the parochial school.

Josephine, age 62, died suddenly in her home on a Friday of an apparent heart attack. She was survived by her husband, four daughters, two sons, four grandchildren, five sisters, and seven brothers. Josephine was preceded in death by one daughter. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Saint Aloysius Church in Sauk City with the Rev. Frederick Forster officiating.

Biography* Verena Hornung Klade Hulvey, 1905-1975:
Verena's birthplace is listed as Sauk City in her obituary but Roxbury township in her Dane County birth record. In 1930, Verena was renting at 319 Russell Street in Madison's 6th ward for $25/month and working in a restaurant. Her four children, ages 5, 4, 2, and 1, were living with her. Theodore, her husband, was a farm laborer in Washington County. Verena was divorced from Theodore on the 20th of September in that year. And, she was divorced from her second husband, Everett A. Hulvey, on 27 April 1956 also in Madison. Verena was a photographer, a member of Saint Bernard's Parish, and of its Altar Society. She also was a long time member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

A resident of 2613 Hoard Street, Verena died on a Sunday at a Madison hospital. She was survived by one son, three daughters, 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Saint Bernard's, 2450 Atwood Avenue, with Msgr. George Wirz officiating.

Helma was lodging with John and Mary Bergan at 207 North Hamilton in Madison's 2nd ward in 1930 and operating a beauty parlor. She was also residing in Madison in 1941, 1943, 1975 and 1990. Married to Theodore Wetternach in 1931, they were divorced on 16 January 1976 in Madison. She was a member of Saint Bernard's parish and it's Over Fifty Club, the Nakoma Country Club, Eastside Business Women, Catholic Daughters of Isabella, and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Helma died on a Thursday. She was survived by two sisters and many nieces and nephews. The funeral was held on Monday from Saint Bernard's, 2250 Atwood Avenue with Monsinger Michael Hippee presiding. Arrangements by Gunderson East funeral home, 5203 Monona Drive.

He was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services were held on Saturday from Saint John's with the Rev. Elmer Dietzel and the Rev. Monte Robinson officiating.
     NOTE: The surviving son listed in Edgar's obituary is Dean (Virginia) Kreger of Middleton. Dean is actually Edgar's grand-nephew, the grandson of his sister Verena.

She was living in Madison in 1975 and 1990. Pauline was a member of Saint Bernard's parish in Madison and the Blackhawk Country Club. A certified beautician, she was the owner of both Pauline's Beauty Salon and the Park Motor Inn Beaty Salon for 40-years until her retirement.

Pauline died at her home on a Sunday. She was survived by her two sons, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers. The funeral was held on Thursday from Saint Bernard's with the Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Ryan funeral home, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue was in charge of arrangements.
