Biography* | Herbert H. Pollard, 1889-1973: Both of Herbert's parents were born in Maine. He grew to a man of medium height and medium build with blue eyes and brown hair. In 1910, at age 20, he was lodging at 1001 E Street in Sacramento, California and was working as a draftsman for a railroad. In 1917, he was living at 769 Hawthorn Place in Pamona, California and working as a citrus fruit handler at a local fruit exchange. In 1930, he was living apart from the family but still married. Herbert was lodging at 6029 Carlton Avenue in Los Angeles. He was working as a photographer for a publicity company. After his wife died in 1951, Herbert moved to Santa Paula in Ventura County, California. |

Biography* | Lloyd Omar Lind, 1902-1983: Born in South Dakota to a father born in Sweden and to a mother born in South Dakota to Norwegian parents, Lloyd, the oldest of five children, grew up in the Worthing-Harrisburg area. In 1910, his parents owned a mortgaged farm in Lynn township of Lincoln County. In 1920, they owned a mortgaged farm in Dayton township. Lloyd farmed near Worthing for most of his adult life retiring to Worthing in 1970. Lloyd was a member of the West Prairie Lutheran church and Worthing Masonic Lodge No. 141. In January 1981, he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Canton. Lloyd, age 80, died suddenly at the Center on a Monday. He was survived by two sons, two daughters, 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services, arranged by Dindot and Son Funeral Home, were held on Thursday from the West Prairie Lutheran church with the Rev. Joel S. Wudel officiating. Mrs. Donald Sweeter was organist and Delwin Kuhns the soloist. Pallbearers were Charles Bledsoe, David Schriever, Art Butenschoen, Brian Lind, Bradley Lind, and George Zahn. |
