Biography* William Robert Jones, 1904-1987:
William was the youngest of four and the second of two sons. His parents, James Jones and Mattie Bowles were Kentucky born farmers. In 1910, they owned their farm free of mortgage in precinct one of Jackson County, Kentucky. By 1920 they had moved to La Veta in Huerfano County, Colorado where they owned their house free of mortgage. By 1921 the family had moved into Colorado Springs in El Paso County where they lived at 811 North Custer Avenue. In 1926 William was married to Irene Ryan in Limon County by Minister Thomas P Carey of Colorado Springs. William was a driver for the Smith Packaging Company. In 1927, they lived at 115 North Prospect and William was driving for Kimzy Brothers. In 1928 at 215 Custer Avenue and he was working for the Platte Avenue Creamery. !n 1929 at 836 East Kiowa and still at the creamery. Then in 1930 they were renting half-a-duplex at 243 North Institute Street for $22/month. William was managing the Platte Avenue Creamery and Market and Irene was working there as a clerk. About this time they had a child, a son. By 1933 they had moved to 501 Swope Avenue. Then in 1935, they moved to 620 East Fountain and William was now working at the Silver Shield Dance Hall. On 27 August 1936, William and Irene were divorced and four days later William married Adra Hudson. In 1938, he and Adra were living at 535 East Bijou. In 1942 William registered for the World War II draft. He listed his contact as his father at 1132 West Kiowa [William's parents had moved from Custer Avenue to the West Kiowa address in 1931] and his employer as F. R. Flanagan of the Colorado Springs Music Company. William was 5'-8'' in height, weighed 147 pounds, had blue eyes, blond hair and a light complexion. He signed on February 16th as William Robert Jones. He was working as a helper at the music company and later as a washer mechanic. In 1945, William was the owner/operator of the Bill Jones Washing Machine Service. In 1946, he and Adra were living at 1012 East Yampa.

William, 82, died on a Tuesday. It is not known where he died nor when and where he was buried. William's Social Security Records list his last residence as Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

Biography* Susanna Smith Ryan, ca1907-:
Susanna was the fifth of seven children and fifth of five daughters born to John Smith, born in Indiana, and Edith Day, born in Ohio. In 1910 the father John was a farmer and the family was living on a rented farm in Greenwich township, Huron County, Ohio. By 1920, the family had moved into Greenwich Village in Huron County and were renting on Tilton Street. John was working as a section hand on a railroad. By 1930, the family had moved into Willard Village in Huron County and were renting for $20/month. John was still working on the railroad. Susanna was not listed with her family. In June, Susanna married James Ryan in Norwalk, Huron County. Before the decade was out Susanna and James had divorced.

Nothing more is known about Susanna.
