Biography* | Martha C. Bastyr Lynch, 1922-2006: Martha was the youngest of six children and the fourth daughter. Her parents were both first generation American-Czechs (Bohemian). Martha and her siblings grew up on a farm in Wheatland township, Rice County, Minnesota. Martha wasn't with the family in 1940. In 1948, her mother Albina died in Wheatland but was buried in Austin, Mower County. Martha, who was living in Saint Paul, was at the funeral. Martha's widowed father moved to Austin that same year. The following year, 1947, Martha was married to John Lynch. And by 1950, she and John were living on Drexel Boulevard in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. About nine-years later they moved to Palatine also in Cook County. Martha, 83, of Rolling Meadows in Cook County died on a Wednesday at The Moorings in Arlington Heights. She was survived by four sons, eight grandchildren, siblings Albina (the late Ralph) Wolf and Albert (Elsie) Bastyr. Martha was predeceased by her husband John and siblings Robert Bastyr, Helen Wehner and Mary Peroutka. The funeral was held on Saturday at Saint Colette Church in Rolling Meadows. Meadows Funeral Home of Rolling Meadows was in charge. |
