Biography* | Harry T. Lane, 1902-1991: Harry's father was born in Canada and immigrated in ca1869, Harry's mother was born in Missouri. All four of Harry's grandparents were born in Ireland. Harry was the third of seven children and the second son. In 1910, the family was living at 1406 Shawmut Place in the 21st ward. In 1920, they were at 5872 Bartmer Avenue in 28th ward and Harry, 17, was working as a stock boy at a millinery firm. His father William was an agent with an express company. In 1930, Harry's parents owned the house on Bartmer, worth $12,000, and Harry was a stenographer in a steel manufacturing company. Harry, 89, died on a Sunday. He was survived by one son and one daughter. Harry's funeral was held the following Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul church. Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa at Watson, was in charge of arrangements. Donations were suggested to the Missouri Head Injury Foundation, P.O. Box 84, Jefferson City, MO 65102 (designated for Wilderness Retreat). |

Biography* | Josephine Zeni Cody, 1908-1979: Probably born in Benld Village, Cahokia township, Macoupin County, Illinois, Josephine was a first generation Austrian-American whose parents both spoke Italian. Her father immigrated to the U.S. in 1892, her mother in 1898. In 1910 the family owned their home free of mortgage on Locust Street in Benld and Josephine had three older brothers. Three other children were deceased. Her father worked as a coal miner. By 1920, two more brothers and three sisters had been added to the family. By 1930, the family had moved to St. Louis and owned a $5,000 house at 1729 Cora Avenue in the 22nd ward. Her father was retired. Josephine died on a Monday at age 71. She was survived by four sisters: Anne Vegher, Mary Bach, Emma Shea, and Agnes Zeni; and three brothers: Henry, Charles, Lester Zeni. She was predeceased of her husband Thomas Cody and two brothers: Guido and Joseph A Zeni. Josephine's funeral was held privately on Wednesday from Saints John & James church. |

Louis was a tall man of slender build with grey eyes and blond hair. In 1920 he was working at an express company. In 1930, Louis was living with his parents at 6276 Famous Avenue and had no occupation. Louis never married. In 1957, he was a janitor at 4143 Laclede. Louis, 60, of 4067A Chouteau, died on a Friday at Marian hospital. Cause of death was heart disease and cerebral arteriosclerosis. He was attended by Dr. A. S. Jones, 3616 S Bdwy, St Louis. The undertaker was Rowland Aker, 4104 Manchester. |

Kammermeyer Begley, 1915-1986: Marie was the fourth child and second daughter born to a first generation German-American father born in Missouri and a mother born in Missouri whose own father was born in New York. In 1910, the family rented at 238 Blase Avenue in St Louis 1st ward and her father was an insurance agent. In 1920, the family rented at 2203 Benton Street in St Louis 18th ward. Her father worked at a bakery. By 1930, Marie's father was presumably deceased and her mother Mary had married George Nuernberger. The family was renting at 4755 Genevieve in the 27th ward. Marie was working as a press feeder at a printing company. Marie died on a Thursday at age 70. Her funeral was held on Monday from St. Aloysius church in Spanish Lake, St Louis County, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were made by Buchholz Spansih Lake Mortuary, 1645 Redman Avenue. |
