Biography* | Johannah O'Brien, est1851-????: Johanna O'Brien was the informant for her mother's 1894 civil death record. She could not sign her name (she marked with an 'x'). It is the only evidence of Johannah's existence. She was the only known child that was alive and living at home at the time of her mother's death. Have estimated that Johannah was born between brothers Michael and Patrick. Johannah is not listed in the 1901 census of Annagh. She is not to be found in the district of Churchtown (which includes at least parts of the civil parishes of Imphrick, Bregoge, Churchtown, Aglishdrinagh, and Kilbroney). Apparently neither of her brothers who were alive at the time of their parent's deaths came home to live in Annagh. In 1901, there were 11-houses in the townland (actually there are three townlands - Annagh North, Annagh South, and Annagh Bogs) and three of the eleven houses were uninhabited. Johannah certainly moved. It's also possible that she married, died or emigrated. |
