Biography* | | Martha Kitzman Tracy, 1900-1989: Martha was the second of four children and the younger of two daughters. Her father Joe (or John), a first generation German-American, was born in Wisconsin. Her mother Barbara was born in Germany. In 1900, the family was living in a rented house in Cannon City, Rice County, Minnesota. Martha's father Joe was a farm laborer. In 1910, the family was renting at 735 Sixth Street, a duplex in the 3rd ward of Hastings, Dakota County, Minnesota. And the father was working on a railroad. At the time of her 1918 marriage, Martha was a resident of Bessemer, Michigan. The marriage was performed by parish priest Chas J Swoboda before witnesses Alexander Kitzman, Martha's brother, of Topaz, Michigan and Mary McDonald of Bessemer. |
