Biography* Regina Mary Sharpe Wright, 1901-1957:
According to her obituary, Regina was born in Chatfield on 23 July 1902. This is at odds with her baptismal record at Saint Mary's which lists her birthdate as 25 July 1901 and her christening date as 11 August 1901. Regina's christening was performed by the Rev S. Maddock with sponsors John and Mary Waters. The youngest of two and the only daughter, Regina grew up in Chatfield. After she married in 1923, Regina and her husband Leon moved to Minneapolis for a time, farmed near Chatfield until 1946 when they moved to Saint Charles. They lived there until 1950 when they moved to Dover and then Pine Island in Olmsted County. Iin 1956 they moved to Owatonna in Steele County. In Owatonna, Regina was employed as housemother at Cottage Number 3 at the Owatonna State School.5

Regina, 55, of 120½ W. Broadway, Owatonna died on a Thursday at Saint Mary's hospital in Rochester after a four-day stay. Cause of death was increased intracranial pressure due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Regina was attended by physician Jesse E Edwards (MD) of the Mayo Clinic. She was survived by her husband Leon, one son, two daughters, one grandchild, and one brother Joseph of Rochester. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday from Saint Mary's Catholic church in Chatfield with Msgr. Wm. Coleman officiating. Pallbearers were Philip Sharpe, Anthony Sharpe, Sydney Ellstrom, Joe Lawson, Cy Tuohy, and Al Senst. Cronin & Son Funeral Home of Rochester was in charge. Regina's birth year on her tombstone is inscribed 1902.

Biography* Harriet G. LaPlant Sharpe, 1902-1976:
Born in Minnesota to a father born in New York and a mother who was a first generation Irish-American born in Minnesota, Harriet grew up in a farm in Orion township of Olmsted County, Minnesota. She was the second of eight and the oldest of four daughters. After her 1921 marriage to Joseph Sharpe the couple continued to farm in the Chatfield area until 1946 when they moved to the Kellogg area. They farmed there until 1962 when they retired and moved into the village. Harriet was a member of Saint Agnes parish council and Catholic Daughters of America in Plainview.

Harriet Sharpe, 74, died at Saint Elizabeth's hospital on a Monday after a stay of 4-days. The informant on the death cert was her husband Joseph. Cause of death was metastatic carcinoma, carcinoma of colon and bowel infarction (terminal). An autopsy was performed. Harriet was attended by physician David E. Martin (MD) of Community Clinic in Wabasha, Minnesota. She was survived by her husband, two sons, four daughters, brothers Walter of Chatfield, Clarence of Chicago, Henry and Paul of Rochester, sisters Miss Esther LaPlant and Miss Rose Mary LaPlant of Rochester and Mrs Lucille Tuohy of Chatfield. The funeral was held at Saint Agnes Catholic church in Kellogg on Thursday and was officiated by Rev James Speck and Rev Paul Halloran of Stewartville. Pallbearers were Steven and David Buol, Ronald and Norman Hager, Terrance and Thomas Severson. Abbot-Wise Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge.

Biography* Leon A. Wright, 1902-1983:
Leon was the second of four and the second of two sons. His father Ernest, a farmer, was a first generation English-American born in Minnesota. Leon's mother Daisy's parents were born in New York. In 1900, the family was renting a farm in Elmira township of Olmsted County, Minnesota. By 1910 they owned a mortgaged farm in Orion township. Leon's father Ernest died in 1914 and in 1920 the mother was operating the farm with the help of her two sons. Leon married Regina Sharpe in 1923 and in October of 1924 they moved to Minneapolis. And in 1927, were living at 3218 Tyler there. By 1930 they were back in Fimmore County, renting in Chatfield township and farming. In 1940, Leon and Regina owned a $2,000 house in Chatfield township. Leon, still a farmer, registered for the World War II draft in 1942. He was 5ft-8in tall, weighed 150 pounds, had brown eyes and hair and light brown complexion. He signed the registration on February 16th. The following month Leon was chosen to be a director, for a two-year term, of the Chatfield Shipping Association at its annual shareholder meeting. In 1945, the family moved to Saint Charles in Winona County. There Leon bought the Saint Charles Locker Plant and became a butcher. In 1950, he sold out of the locker plant and the family moved to Dover in Olmsted County where they operated Brown's Inn. By 1954, they had moved to Pine Island, Olmsted County where Leon worked as a butcher at Brennan's Locker Service. In 1956, they moved again, this time to Owatonna. Wife Regina died the following year. Leon was married again to Laura Johnson and about 1978, they moved to Albert Lea, Freeborn County, Minnesota where he also worked as a butcher at a meat locker.

Leon, 80, of 1820 Brookside Circle in Albert Lea, died on a Thursday at Naeve hospital in Albert Lea of complication following surgery. His wife Laura was the informant on the death cert. Cause of death was cardiogenic shock and abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was attended by physician Chris Anderson (MD) of Albert Lea. Leon was survived by his 2nd wife Laura, one son, two daughters, eight grandchildren, a brother Paul of Chatfield and sisters Dorothy Gendler of Albert Lea and Frances Crowell of Yakima, Washington. He was preceded in death by a son. The funeral was held on Saturday at Saint Mary's Catholic church in Chatfield with Rev Donald Leary officiating. Pallbearers were Ed Krause, Bing Severson, Tony Sharpe, Edwin Wright, Richard Wright and Ves Tuohy. Undertaker Bonnerup & Son, 525 West Clark, Albert Lea was in charge. Leon was buried in Chatfield with his first wife Regina.
