Biography* Florence M. Laser Parr Ryan Lewis, 1906-2002:
Florence was the second child of four and the elder of two daughters. She and her brother Patrick were the only two of the four who survived to adulthood. Her parents Leroy and Bertie May were farmers both born in Ohio. In 1910 they were renting a farm in Jackson township of Richland County. In 1920, they owned the farm they were working. The family was living in Shelby City in Richland County when Florence married Harry Parr in 1923. The marriage record listed her age as 18 - she was actually 16. Florence and Harry had a daughter circa 1926 and were divorced before 1930. In 1930, Florence and her daughter were living with her parents in Shelby, Ohio and Florence was working in a factory. Her father no longer farmed and was working as a painter. Later that year, Florence was married to Ervin Ryan by Lutheran Minister D. Bruce Young. Florence and Ervin were divorced a few years later and in the second half of the 1930s Florence married Willard Lewis. In 1940 they rented at 511 Emerald Street in Willard Village, Huron County for $16/month. Florence, with two-years of high school, worked as a clerk in a store. In 1939, she worked 15-weeks for wages of $159. Willard, with a high school education, worked as a brakeman on a railroad. Willard died in 1993.

Florence, 95, died on a Saturday at a long term care facility in Warren, Ohio. She was buried with her third husband Willard.
