Biography* | Clayton T. Weaver, 1894-1968: Born on a farm in Wisconsin to parents also born in Wisconsin, Clayton grew to be a tall man of slender build with grey eyes and brown hair. He was the middle child of three and the only son. His father's parents were from New York state, his mother's parents were from Vermont and Pennsylvania. By the time Clayton was fifteen, his father had retired from farming and the family owned a house on South First Street in Janesville. Clayton completed one-year of high school. In 1917, he was working as an oil engine tester for Fairbanks & Morse in Beloit and living at 118 First in Evansville. In 1920, Clayton was boarding at 433 S. Union street in Janesville's 3rd ward and listed his occupation as mechanical engineer. Later, he was employed for 39 years at Sampson Tractor Company and the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. Clayton rose to plant superintendant before his retirement in 1959. By 1930, he and Agnes owned a $7,000-house at 1111 W. State Street in Janesville's 4th ward. At this time, Clayton was the drive-way foreman at the factory. They did not own a radio. In 1939, he worked for 52-weeks and earned $2,100. In 1940, the vaule of their house had fallen to $5,500. Clayton was a member of the Magnolia Advent Christian Church. Clayton, 74, died on a Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Janesville shortly after having been admitted. He was survived by his wife Agnes, two daughters, 11 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs Hallye Pollock of Janesville and Mrs Marion Jones of Evansville. Services were held on Friday from the Whitcomb Funeral Home. |

Biography* | Veronica "Vera" Tracy Buggs, 1887-1978: Born in Atlantic, Iowa, Vera and her parents moved to Sun Prairie in 1893. In 1900 the family was living in Burke township, Dane County, Wisconsin. After graduation from Sun Prairie High School, Vera went to Janesville to attend Dale's Business College. After graduation from college, she was employed in the office of the city treasurer at Whitewater, and later in the Jackman Block office of the Hayner and Beers Insurance Agency, Janesville. Vera was a member of Saint William Catholic Church and its Altar Society, the Catholic Woman's Club, and the Catholic Daughters of America. She and her husband, Robert, lived at 512 South Academy Street in Janesville. Sometime after Robert died in 1968, she went to live with her daughter at 1902 Bond. Vera, 90, died on a Wednesday. She was survived by one daughter, four granddaughters, and eight grandchildren. Her husdand and only son both died in 1968. Vera's funeral was held on Friday from Saint William's. Schneider Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |

Biography* | Robert Frank Buggs, 1883-1968: Robert, a first generation German-American, was a tall man of slender build with gray eyes and dark hair. He was raised in Janesville on South Academy Street. Robert's father was a dealer in coal and wood. Robert completed four-years of high school. After their marriage, Robert and Vera owned a house at 512 South Academy Street in Janesville's 4th ward. In 1930, the house was valued at $5,000. In 1940, at $6,500. One of the early auto-dealers, Robert sold Krits, Regal and Pathfinder. Between 1913 and 1938, he operated the agency for Ford and Lincoln and later, Cadillac and Nash. Active in civic affairs, he was a Rotarian and a member of the Twilight Club. Robert had operated the White Star Cab Company in 1912, and later operated Bob's Auto Supply Company, retiring in September 1967. Robert died on a a Saturday at Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville at age 85. Robert was survived by his wife Vera, one daughter, one son, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday from Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Wolfgram funeral home was in charge of arrangements. |

Biography* | Louis Charles Drunasky, 1894-1945: Born in Wisconsin to parents also born in Wisconsin, Louis grew to be a tall man of slender build with light blue eyes and dark brown hair. Louis had a younger brother and a younger sister. In 1900, the family was living on a farm they owned with mortgage in Cottage Grove township, Dane County, Wisconsin. Louis was educated through the eighth grade. In 1930, Louis was farming in Sun Prairie Township. He and Charlotte did not own a radio. In 1939, they had a lodger who worked on the farm and whom they paid $300 in wages for the year. The week-ending 31 March 1940 Louis worked 80-hours. Their house on the farm was valued at $1,000. Later, he was employed by the Findroff Lumber and Supply Company. Louis was a member of the Holy Name Society of Saint Bernard's Church in Madison and was also a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local No. 314. Louis, 50, died in a Madison hospital on a Sunday as the result of injuries, including a fractured back, received in a car-train collision on Saturday. A North Western passenger train struck his car at the Winnebago St. crossing. He was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Drunasky of Sun Prairie, four daughters, two sons, five grandchildren, one brother Ernest, and one sister Mrs. George Hoepker both of Sun Prairie. Louis' wife Charlotte had died six-months earlier. Funeral services were held on Wednesday from Sacred Hearts with the Rev. G. A. Haeusler officiating. Tuschen Funeral Home was in charge. |
