Max Gaertner at Saint Aloysius with sponsor Francisca Neuheisel (parents listed as Francis Neuheisel and Theresia Emmae). Francisca was alive on 16 June 1877 when her father's estate was distributed. She is not listed in the 1880 census. Did she die? or marry and move away? |

Biography* | Raymond Neuheisel, 1907- : Christened Raymond John on 29 May 1907 at Saint John's in Spring Green with sponsors Anton Balthasar Neuheisel, his father's brother, and Rose Hetzel Lins, his mother's sister. Raymond was living in Union County, New Jersey on 5 November 1922 when he enlisted as a Private in the U.S. Army at Newark, New Jersey. At that time he was single, without dependents, and was employed as a small craft operator. His birth year was listed as 1904. Raymond was living in Elkhorn, Wisconsin in 1963, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the early 1970s and, in Alabama in 1977. He wasn't listed in his sibling's 1985 obituary. He is not listed on the VA gravesite locator web-site, nor on the Social Security Death Index web-site. |

Biography* | Rose Neuheisel Schumacher, 1912-2012: Rose was christened on 11 February 1912 at Saint John's Catholic church in Spring Green with sponsors Joseph & Elis Lins. When she was 2, her family loaded all of their belongings on a train, including the cattle, and moved to a farm in the Cashton area. Later, her parents donated the land used to start Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. After her 1931 marriage, Rose and Alfred farmed for 13 years in Halls Valley on the farm that they purchased from her father. They called the farm “Orchard Hills.” In 1964 they sold the farm and moved to their home at 704 Kenyon Street in Cashton. Alfred passed away in 1998. Besides raising their four boys, Rose worked for 17 years at the Monroe County Telephone Company until her retirement in 1997. She was a charter member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton. Rose Schumacher, 99, of Cashton died on a Friday at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She was survived by two sons, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and two daughters-in-law along with many other relatives and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alfred, two sons, two granddaughters, five brothers and one sister. The funeral was held on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton. Father Klos officiated. Music was provided by Alverda Weidemann, organist and the Sacred Heart PCCW choir. Amy Jordan was the reader. Pallbearers were Richard Schumacher, Cory Schumacher, Brian Schumacher, Kevin Schumacher, Jim Johnson and Chuck Olson. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Schumacher and Aaron Johnson. Torkelson Funeral Home of Cashton was in charge. |

Biography* | Norbert Anthony Neuheisel, 1913-1974: Christened on 8 February 1913 at Saint John's in Spring Green with sponsors Joannes Lins & Frances. Norbert owned and operated the Neuheisel Lime Works until 1961 and the Great Lakes Select Stone Company until 1969. He was employed at National Presto Industries until 1972. During World War II, Norbert served as an advisor to the War Food Administration. He had been a member of Elks B.P.O. Lodge No. 402 and Loyal Order of Moose in Eau Claire. He was also a member of the National Association of Limestone Producers and Saint Patrick's Parish. A resident of 1233 South Dewey Street in Eau Claire, Norbert, age 61, died on a Sunday evening at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, his mother, three brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services were held on Wednesday from Saint Patrick's in Eau Claire with the Rev. Bernard McGarrity officiating. |

He moved to the Bloomington, Illinois area circa 1959 where he was a salesman for the Superwood Corporation. Clement was a member of Saint Patrick's Church in Merna, the Louis E. Davis American Legion Post, The Knights of Columbus, The Elks and Moose. Clement, age 54 of Route 2, Normal, Illinois, died on a Friday at Brokaw Hospital after an illness of about four months. He was survived by his wife, three daughters, seven grandchildren, his mother, two sisters, and two brothers. His funeral was held on Monday from Saint Patrick's in Merna. The burial was at Sacred hearts in Cashton with the Rev. Patrick Hollern officiating. |

He was survived by his wife, four sons, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild. Alfred's funeral was held on Saturday from Sacred Heart church in Cashton, the Rev. Kevin Louis officiating. Torkelson funeral service of Cashton was in charge of arrangements. |
