Biography* | Lucile Julia Conerty, 1909-1916: Lucile was the youngest of four daughters born to Charles Conerty and Blanch Lynch. In 1910, the family was living at 3802 West Huron(?) Street in Chicago's 35th ward. Lucile, 6-years/22-months/22-days, died on a Wednesday at Children's Memorial hospital in Chicago. She was survived by her mother and three sisters Crystal, Grace and Jewel. Services were held at the home, 647 North Lawndale, on Friday. The remains were then transported by train to the home of Lucille's maternal grandparent's, M/M J. B. Lynch, in Ridgefield, McHenry County. Services were held there officiated by the Rev Dornheffer of Chicago. Miss Ella Mollohan sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus". Burial was in the Ridgefield cemetery beside two little cousins who preceded Lucille. Relatives from out-of-town who traveled to Ridgefield included: M/M Max Peterson of Brooklyn, Wisconsin; Frank Conerty of Harvard, McHenry County; M/M L. M. Goddard, Mrs Henry Conerty, Mrs Elmer Eckert and M/M John Conerty all of Woodstock, McHenry County; Pat Conerty, Mrs King and Miss Mamie Philips all of Chicago. |

Biography* | Harry De Odneal, 1915-1980: Harry was the elder of two sons born to William Odneal and Grace Van Hoy both born in Missouri. Harry invariably listed his birthplace as Spruce, Bates County, Misouri4. In 1920, the Odneal family lived in Deepwater township in a house owned with mortgage. The father William was a rural mail carrier. William died that year and in 1930 Grace and the two sons still lived in the same house which was now valued at $1,600. In 1935 Harry still lived in Missouri but by 1939, he had moved to Brownsville, Cameron County, Texas where he met and married Edith Ryan. Also in that year, Harry, with 2-years of college, worked 52-weeks and earned wages of $2,100 as a radio operator for Pan American Airways at the Municipal Airport in Brownsville. In 1940 Harry and Edith owned a $2,900 house at 525 Adams and they had a telephone ("Brownsville 1645"). Harry worked 30-hours the week-ending 30 March. In October he registered for the World War II draft. Harry was 6'2" tall, weighed 167 pounds, with brown eyes, dark brown hair and a light brown complexion. He signed Harry De Odneal on 16 October. By 1947, they wre living at 175 East 7th Street in Miami, Florida. Harry was now working for the Civil Aeronautics Administration of the U.S. Commerce Department in Washington, D.C. as a radio operator and inspector. Two years later, they were back in Texas and living in the Fort Worth area of Tarrant County. In 1949 they lived at 2020 Layton Avenue in Haltom City. In 1952 at 304 Hardesty in Richland Hills and then finally in 1955 at 6816 Hardesty. In 1958, the air traffic control powers of the CAA, including Harry and his position, were transferred to the newly formed Federal Aviation Agency (FAA). Edith died in 1979. Harry, 65, died on a Tueday at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. A son was informant on the death cert. Cause of death was respiratory arrest (immediate), pneuminia (5-days), lung cancer (18-months). Harry's physician was John L. E. Nugent, MD. He was cremated on July 14th. Lucas Funeral Home was in charge. |

- Spruce was an unincorpated area in Bates County that had a post office. The Odneals lived in the next township south, Deepwater, which is probably where Harry was born
