Biography* | | Timothy Leo Lynch, 1903-1980: Probably born in Holt township, Fillmore County, Minnesota, Timothy was the first of eight children. He grew up on a farm in that township and completed two-years of high school. In the early 1930s Timothy moved to Austin in Mower County. There he was employed as a butcher in a Hormel Company meat packing plant. In 1939, Timothy earned $1,380 in wages. In November of that year he married Mary Albers of North Dakota (the license was issued in Oliver County, North Dakota). In 1940, Timothy was one of four lodgers with John & Kate Gulden at 1004 East Bridge Street in Austin's 3rd ward. He was listed as married but wife Mary was listed with her parents in North Dakota and as single. In 1949, Timothy worked as a beef skinner at the meat packing plant for 52-weeks and earned wages of $4,600. He also had additinal earned income of $270, plus $440 of non-wage income. Other family members earned wages of $40. In 1950, Timothy and Mary were listed at 1201 North 4th (a duplex) in Austin with five children. Timothy worked 48-hours the week-ending 08 April. Timothy, 76, of 1201 8th Street NW in Austin, died on a Saturday at Saint Olaf hospital there. Cause of death was fatal dysrrhythmia (immediate), acute anterior wall myocardial infarction (3-days) and coronary arteriosclerosis (9-years). He was attended by Dr. Thomas M. Seery (MD) of 101 14th Sreet NW, Austin. He was survived by wife Mary, three-sons, three-daughters, 14-grandchildren, two-brothers John of Chicago and Vincent of Salinas, California, two-sisters Sr Immacula Lynch of Hillsboro, Wisconsin and Mrs Paul (Veronica) Frank of Fairview, New Jersey. The funeral was held on Tuesday at Saint Augustine Catholic church. Mayer Funeral Home of Austin was in charge. |
