Biography* | | Julia Shatters Conerty, 1887-1916: Julia was the fifth child of seven. Her father William, a German-Irish-American, was born in New Jersey and worked as a blacksmith. Julia's mother Amelia was a German-American born in Illinois. In 1900 the family owned their own home on Elm Street in Hampshire, Kane County, Illinois. In 1910, Julia was not living with her parents. In 1911, she was married to Henry Conerty at Saint Patrick's Cathoilc church in Hartland, McHenry County, Illinois. Julia, 30, died at her parent's home in Harvard on a Tuesday. She had been visiting her parents from her home in Colorado. Cause of death was a blood clot on the brain. The funeral was held on a Friday from her parents home in Harvard and then to Saint Charles Catholic church in Hampshire, Illinois. |
