Biography* | Kenneth W. Conerty, 1914-1984: Kenneth was the middle child of three and the only son. Born in Colorado, by 1920 the family had moved to McHenry County, Illinois and were living at 424 Park Place in the 1st ward of Woodstock. In 1940 he married Flora White at the Bethlehem Evangelical church, Pauline and Columar(?) Streets in Chicago. The marriage was performed by Pastor H. W. Dinkmeyer before witnesses M/M Edward Brandseth. At the time, Kenneth, a graduate of the University of Illinois, was working as an engineer for the Carnegie Steel Company in Gary and living at 723 Connecticut Avenue there. They later lived in Marengo, McHenry County, Illinois. Some time after his wife died in 1958, Kenneth moved to Henderson, Nevada. Kenneth, 70, of 436 Long Tree Avenue, Henderson, Nevada died on a Saturday He was survived by his second wife Amanda Peterson of Henderson, one son, one grandson and one sister Josephine Frederick of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kenneth was preceded by his parents, sister Irene and his first wife Flora White. The funeral was held Wednesday at Palm Mortuary in Henderson with the Rev Ronald Mayer officiating. Kenneth was cremated. |

Biography* | Robert Edward Frederick, 1910-1981: Robert was a first generation German-American. His father August Frederick was born in Germany, immigrated to the USA in 1882, was naturalized and worked for a machinery company. His mother Nell Dunklan was a first generation German-American born in Illinois. Robert was the sixth child of eight and the fourth son of five. In 1910, the family was renting at 2154 Walnut Stree in the 14th ward of Chicago, Illinois. Robert's father August died in 1916 and by 1920, the widow Nell was renting in Chemung township of McHenry County and working as a nurse. Robert and four siblings were living with her. Robert was educated thru the eighth grade and in 1930 was renting in Chemung township by himself for $8/month. Married in 1933, by 1935 he and Jospehine were renting at 362 24th Avenue in the 8th ward of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Circa 1936 he went to work for American Motors in Kenosha as an inspector. In 1939, he worked 46-weeks and earned wages of $1,455. In 1940, Robert, wife Josephine and their two sons were renting at the same 24th Avenue addres for $20/month. He retired in 1968 after 32-years. He was a member of the Ke-Nash-A club. (The Ke-Nash-A Club was a social club for employees of the Nash Motors Company, an automobile manufacturer based in Kenosha. Nash merged with Hudson Motor Car Company to become American Motors.) Robert, 71, of 6042 40th Avenue, died on a Tuesday at Saint Catherine's hospital. He was survived by his wife Josephine, two sons, four grandchildren, a brother George and sisters Grace and Mrs Emil (Ruth) Principe all of Kenosha. Robert was preceded by brothers Howard and Larry and sister Mrs Elizabeth Keller. |

The groom Jean was working in the inspection department of the same company. They were married at First Presbyterian church in Woodstock by Rev Austin Heuver. After the wedding they lived at 616 Clay Street in Woodstock. The reception was held at Mary's parent's home. In 1940, Mary, who had completed one-year of college, and her husband Jean rented in the 2nd ward for $25/month. She worked as a secretary in a factory (presumably the Alemite Company). In 1939, Mary worked 52-weeks and earned wages of $900. By 1941, they lived in the Saint Louis, Missouri area. In 1971, she and Jean moved to Tampa, Florida from Jennings, Missouri. Mary, 74, died on a Tuesday at University Hospital in Tampa. She was survived by husband Jean, sister Joyce (Ben) Rigby of Woodstock and brother Elmer A. Eckert of Elmhurst. Son John was not mentioned. A Memorial service was held at an unknown date at Forest Hills Presbyterian church in Florida. |

Biography* | Dr Elmer A Eckert, 1917-2008: Elmer was the middle child of three and the only son. He grew up in Woodstock, Illinois first at 232 Railroad Street in the 2nd ward and later at 821 Clay Street. Elmer graduated from Woodstock High School and the University of Illinois school of dentistry. In July of 1940, he enlisted in the U.S.Army and was stationed with the medical corps at Camp Forrest in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Elmer was a commissioned a Lieutenant in October of the following year (1941). In December, on a 10-days leave, he married Pearl Rippy in Bloomington, Illinois on the 21st. An associate from Camp Forrest, Lieutenant Norman Riople of Pekin, Illinois was a witness. After a short honeymonn, Elmer and his new bride returned to Camp Forrest and lived at 504 North Washington. After discharge from the Army, he set up practice in Elmhurst, Du Page County, Illinois. Elmer, 91, of Elmhurst, died on a Sunday. His beloved wife Pearl died two-days earlier. They were survived by three children, eight-grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren. Elmer was also survived by a sister Joyce (Ben) Rigby. A joint memorial service for Elmer and Pearl was held on Saturday, 21 June at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 235 South Kenilworth in Elmhurst. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 8430 West Bryn Mawr, Chicago were requested. Ahlgrim Funeral Home was in charge. |

In 1935, after living for sometime in South Bend, Indiana, he was living in Woodstock, Illinois and was Chief Inspector at the Woodstock plant of the Alemite Die Casting Company. Jean was married to Mary Eckert, who worked in the business office at Alemite, in that year and after the wedding they lived at 616 Clay Street in Woodstock. Jean's parents were living in Du Quoin, Perry County, Illinois at the time. By 1940, Jean, who had completed one-year of college, lived in the 2nd ward of Woodstock with his wife and paid rent of $25/month. He was employed as a foreman in a factory. In 1939, he worked 52-weeks and earned $1,825 in wages. By 1941, Jean and wife Joyce were living in the Saint Louis, Missouri area. Jean eventually became a Vice-President at the John Ramming Machine Company in Saint Louis. He was a member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church. In 1971, they moved to Tampa, Florida from Jennings, Missouri. Jean, 84, died on a Thursday at University Community hospital in Tampa. He was survived by one son, three-grandchildren and brother Richard of Tamaroa, Illinois. The National Cremation Society of Tampa was in charge. |

Walter died at home on a Wednesday, 3-days after his 87th birhday. He was survived by one son, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Walter was preceded by his parents, his wife Ruth who died in 1992 and his brother Charles D. Services were held Monday at the funeral home with Rev Lana T Sutton officiating. By 1930, the family was living in the 46th. In the census, I read the name of the street as Wanelo Ave but haven't been able to identify it in City Directories or Google Maps. LeRoy was working as an office clerk and his father was selling poultry. Married in 1936 to Jaunita Conerty, LeRoy and his bride were living at 4943 Kenmare after the wedding. LeRoy was working for Prudential Life Insurance. By 1940, LeRoy parents were living with them. LeRoy worked at the insurance company for 55-hours the week-ending 31 March. In 1939, he worked 51-weeks and earned wages of $3,800. In 1949, they were living in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois. By 1962, they had moved to Walnut Creek in Contra Costa, Califorina where Leroy was a real estate broker and manager of Tahoe-Donner Development for Lakewood Properties. They moved to Groveland, Tuolumne County, California circa 1976. LeRoy, 83, died at Tuolumne General Hospital in Sonora on a Sunday. He was survived by his Jaunita, three-children and five-grandchildren.. A memorial service held on Wednesday at Groveland Evangelical Free Church. Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |

Biography* | Ethel K. Brown Conerty, 1893-1964: In 1900, Ethel was living with her parents in Woodstock's 2nd ward (McHenry County, Illinois). She had one younger brother. Her mother's sister and her husband lived with them. Ethel's father Orlo Brown, born in Illinois to parents born in New York, was a farmer. Ethel's mother Catherine Lambert was born in Illinois to a father born in Germany and a mother born in Illinois. In 1910, Ethel, age 16, was living with her widowed father at 324 Short Street in Woodstock. Her father was working as a teamster. In 1920, Ethel was living with Dennis and Mary Quinlan at 338 Short Street in Woodstock and was employed as a shop worker at the typewriter factory. In 1930, Ethel was lodging with widow Mary Ann Riley of England at 435 Washington St in Woodstock's 3rd ward. She was working in the typewriter factory. Her father lived at 419 Washington with his 2nd wife Hannah. In 1940, Ethel was rooming with Hattie Coquilette in the 2nd ward and working as a plater in a factory. In 1939, she worked 52-weeks and earned wages of $780. Mrs Ethel K Conerty, age 70, of 814 N Madison Street, Woodstock, died on a Sunday in McHenry County Memorial hospital. She was survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Jaunita Hackett of Walnut Creek, California and Mrs. Ruth Christiansen of Woodstock. A funeral mass was said on Wednesday at Saint Mary's Catholic church by Rev. Joseph M. Egan. Ethel was buried in the Brown family plot in Calvary cemetery. Schneider-Leucht funeral home was in charge. |
