Biography* | Earl Little Noonan, 1904-1965: Earl was a step-son of Daniel Noonan. In 1905, Earl and his birth parents were renting in a triplex at 2000 Franklin Avenue in the 11th ward of Minneapolis. In 1910, they were renting at 425 Seventh Avenue South in the 5th ward. Earl's father was working as a railroad brakeman. By 1920, Earl's mother Ollie had married Daniel Noonan and they were all three, Earl, Ollie and Daniel Noonan, living in a rented house on West Lake Street in the 8th ward. Earl completed two-years of high school and in 1928 married Olga Lanner. In 1930, the couple owned a $1,600 house at 3126 Fifty-Second Street in the 12th ward. Earl was working as a deliveryman for an ice company and Olga was a bookkeeper for a retail household furniture company. By 1940, they were living with his widowed step-father at 712 East Franklin Avenue in the 5th ward. Earl was working in a Ford plant under the WPA (Works Project Administration). In 1939, he worked 52-weeks and earned $726. Someitme later, Earl moved to Phoenix, Arizona. NOTE: Earl's birth surname is sometimes recorded as Littell but in the preponderance of records for himself, his father Daniel and his grandfather Elias the spelling is Little, the spelling used here. |

Biography* | Olga E Lanner Noonan Richter, 1904-1982: Olga was a first generation Swedish-American as was her mother Mathlda. Olga was the second of four children. She was the second of three daughters and also had a younger brother. In 1910, the family lived in a rented home in Worthington Village in Dakota County. Olga's father Charles, who emigrated Sweden in 1893 and was a naturalized U.S. citizen, was a self-employed blacksmith. In 1920, the family owned a mortgaged home on Orchard Lake Road in Lakeville township. The father Charles was farming. In 1930, Olga, with a high school education, and husband Earl owned a $1,600 house at 3216 52nd Street in the 12th ward of Minneapolis. She was working as a bookkeeper in a retail household furniture company. In 1940, they were living with Earl's widowed step-father Daniel Noonan at 712 East Franklin Avenue in the 5th ward. Husband Earl died in 1965 and in 1976 Olga married Carl Richter. Later, she took up nursing and worked in hospitals. Olga, 78, of 918 East 22nd Street, Minneapolis died on a Monday at Augustana Home in Minneapolis. Her brother Carl Lanner was the informant on the death cert. Olga was attended by physician D Pastones (MD) of 1801 West Nicollet Avenue South in Minneapolis. Services were held on Thursday in the Augustana Home chapel at 1007 East 14th Street. Welander-Quist Funeral Home was in charge. Olga is buried in the same cemetery as her parents. Memorials were suggested to the Augustana Home. |

Biography* | Catherine Marie "Birdie" Averill Ryan, 1879-1963: Catherine, the second of two daughters, was born in Iowa. Circa 1883 the family had moved to South Dakota. By 1900 the family rented on 5th Street in Canton, Lincoln County. Her father Samuel, who was born in New York, worked as an expressman, court reporter and later was publisher of the local Canton Newspaper. Her mother Kate was born in England and immigrated to the USA in 1856 at about the age of 2. Catherine received a high school education and became a music teacher. She was married to John Ryan in 1905 by Clergyman M. A. Martin. In 1910, she and John had moved to 2nd Street West in the 1st ward of Roundup, Musselshell County, Montana. By 1915, they returned to the 1st ward of Canton. In 1920, they were renting on North Main Street in Canton's 2nd ward. Catharine's mother and husband died on successive days in 1922 and by 1930, she was living with her widowed father on North Lincoln in the 1st ward. Catharine was giving private piano lessons. Sometime after 1935, both parents having deceased, she moved to California. Her older sister and husband, Madge and Philo Puckett moved to California about the same time. Catharine was an Episcopalian. Later in life, she often used "A" for a middle initial, presumably for her maiden name of Averill. Catharin, 84, died in Los Angeles County, California on a Monday. She is buried with her husband and parents in Canton, South Dakota. |
