Biography* Margaret Leonard Green, 1860-1934:
There is no record of Margaret's christening in Cleenish parish records. She married Eugene (Joseph) Green in 1879 so have assumed that she was born before brother John in 1861 and after her parent's marriage in 1857. Her age was listed as 20-years-old in the 1880 census, which if accurate, would put her birth in the 2nd-half of 1859 or the 1st-half of 1860. Margaret and Eugene (Joseph) were married by the Rev. J. McQuaid, with witnesses Patrick Gilgun of Belcoo and Brigid Reilly of Cornagee. She and Joseph emigrated Ireland for the U.S.A. almost immediately after the wedding and their first child was born in Woburn, Massachusetts nine-months later. In 1880, the family was living on Buckman Street in Woburn. By 1893 they had moved to Worcester and in 1900 were renting at 6 Grafton Street Place in the 4th ward. By 1910 they owned a mortgaged home at number 10 of the same street. And by 1920, had moved into a mortgaged duplex at 19 Arthur Street. The second apartment was rented to their daughter Margaret Brigham's family. Margaret Green's husband Joseph died in 1928. In 1930 the duplex was valued at $4,000.

Margaret, 74, died at her home on a Sunday. She was survived by six sons John H, Edward S, Arthur J, Thomas F, and Herbert L (Herbert L. Green adopted - nee Maguire) all of Worcester and Joseph P of Lynn; two daughters Margaret J (Mrs Frederick H) Brigham and Catherine T (Mrs Edward A) Devlin, one brother John Leonard of Worcester, three sisters Jennie (Mrs Francis) McGovern of Arlington, Catherine (Mrs William) Ahern of Milford, and Mary (Mrs James) Farmer of Ireland. Margaret's funeral was held from the house on Wednesday followed by solemn high mass at St. Stephen's.

Biography* Joseph P. Green, 1860-1928:
Listed as Eugene Green, a resident of Point townland, Cleenish parish, in his 1879 church marriage record. This is the only place where he is not listed as Joseph. Joseph/Eugene is not listed in the christening records of Cleenish. No other children of James Green and Catherine Lunny are listed either. Perhaps they were from a different parish originally. However, there is an 18-year gap in the records from 1840 through 1858. Joseph and Margaret immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1879, settling in Woburn, Massachusetts. In 1882, Joseph petitioned for, and was granted, U.S. citizenship in a Boston Court. Circa 1892, he and Margaret moved from Woburn to Worcester where they rented at 6 Grafton Street Place. By 1910 they owned a mortgaged house at 10 Grafton Street Place. And by 1920, they had replaced the house in Grafton Street Place with a mortgaged duplex at 19 Arthur Street. They rented the second apartmnet to their daughter Margaret and family. Joseph worked as a currier at a leather factory. His sister Annie's husband John O'Brien worked there also. Joseph was a member of Court City of Worcester, M.C.O.F.

Joseph, 68, died at his home on a Wednesday. He was survived by his wife Margaret Leonard, two daughters Margaret J (Mrs Frederick) Brigham and Katherine T (Mrs Edward A) Devlin, six sons John H, Edward E, Arthur J, Thomas F, Herbert Maguire all of Worcester (Herbert was adopted), and Joseph P of Lynn, and one sister Mrs Annie G. O'Brien of Woburn. Joseph's funeral was held on Saturday from the home followed by a solemn high mass at St. Stephen's church. James E. Fay acted as funeral director.
